Content Creator
PEF is seeking a motivated and creative Content Creator to join our team. This role will split its focus between designing engaging visual content and mining impactful stories about PEF’s programs and participants. This role will support the Director of Marketing and Communications in distributing impactful stories and visuals that showcase PEF’s mission and programs, amplifying our reach and demonstrating our impact to the community.
About the Role and Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the director, the Content Creator will craft diverse content for channels including social media, email, and websites. This role will help ignite the audience’s passion for our work, inspiring them to support PEF through fundraising, advocacy, volunteerism, and more.
The ideal candidate will be confident in using photos, design tools, and words to bring stories to life, with a natural curiosity for uncovering meaningful narratives and moments.
Content Creation & Graphic Design: Design visually appealing graphics and layouts for social media, emails, and print materials while maintaining alignment with PEF’s brand guidelines. Capture and share compelling moments through photos and videos that highlight PEF’s programs.
Story Mining: Build relationships with program participants, staff, and partners to uncover and develop impactful stories about PEF’s work and its outcomes.
Website & Social Media Management: Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to maintain a dynamic website and social media presence, ensuring content is engaging, timely, and aligned with PEF’s mission.
Storytelling: Use a consistent tone and creative approach to share stories across digital platforms and print materials.
Marketing Tools: Learn and develop skills with marketing tools such as CRM software, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, and more, to support content distribution and strategy.
Content Calendar Management: Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to maintain and execute the content calendar, ensuring timely delivery of all scheduled content.
Operational Support: Assist the Director with various marketing and communications tasks, including light database management, event support, and content planning.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; minimum of 1 year experience in student services, student program coordination, or education outreach.
Knowledge of the college application process, financial aid resources, and academic preparation strategies.
Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite and other collaborative digital tools such as Google Drive.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse students and family populations.
Ability to develop and deliver presentations to recruit and keep students engaged.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with underrepresented or first-generation college-bound students.
Knowledge of community resources related to higher education access and financial aid.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Knowledge of social media platforms such as: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
Ability to create fresh, interesting, compelling posts for multiple social media accounts.
