Intan McCartt
Recruitment and Operations Manager
Project Inspire
Intan serves as the Recruiting and Operations Manager for PEF's Project Inspire teacher residency. Every child deserves an incredible teacher, and Intan takes that to head and heart with her ideas and vision about the resident recruitment process. She is primarily responsible for all recruitment activities into the Project Inspire teacher residency program, including marketing, presentations, social media, pipeline partnerships with universities and community groups, and managing the resident application process.
Prior to joining PEF, Intan worked for several years in the private sector and then higher education. She worked as an Internal Auditor for FedEx, traveling the country and world ensuring internal controls were in place to mitigate risk and streamline processes for operational efficiencies. She then worked for Chattanooga State Community College and the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) in Internal Audit and Investigations, earning her Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification. However, Intan's favorite part of the work was engaging people for a shared mission. At the VCCS, she was part of the committee to redesign onboarding processes to simplify and increase enrollment, and she was a proven leader on the "Building Community Team" to establish employee-leadership communications and relationships.
Intan was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and then moved to Tuscaloosa, AL (so a big Roll Tide!) when she was 2 because her parents knew the value of education. She received her B.S. in Business Administration (accounting and international business) from the University of Tennessee and her MBA from the University of Memphis. She volunteers as a TN Achieves mentor and a Junior Achievement teacher for elementary-aged children. Intan has a passion for travel (she has been to 49 states, 30 countries, and counting) and you can always find her planning her next trip. She also enjoys spending time with her amazing husband and two young daughters, walking her Siberian Husky, cooking, watching college football and softball, being active, relaxing, listening to podcasts, and reading.
